Obituary: Carolyn Neva McCann, 69, Elizabethtown

Carolyn Neva McCann, 69, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was a native of Detroit. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Daniel McCann Sr.; and her father, Eugene Gates.

She is survived by one son, Michael R. Doran Jr. (Bobbie) of Jackson, Tenn.; one daughter, Kristen McCann Greenwell (Ryan) of Bardstown; one stepdaughter, Holly Jo McCann of Rineyville; one stepson, Steven McCann (Mary) of Elizabethtown; his mother, Neva Markell Gates of Michigan; two sisters, Ruth Howe (Larry) of Tennessee and Gladys Gates of Michigan; six brothers, Dennis Gates (Phyllis) of Florida, Robert Gates (Kathy), Edgar Gates (Pam), Joseph Gates, John Gates, and Darrell Gates (Cora), all of Michigan; six grandchildren, Candis, Alex, Carson, Rusty, Parker, and Addilyn; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at the Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Brother Karl Lusk officiating. Burial is in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Saturday and after noon on Sunday at the funeral home.

The Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
