Bardstown man facing burglary charges related to Feb. 1 Bloomfield fire

Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 — A Bardstown man was arrested by the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office detectives Friday on burglary charges in connection with his alleged role in a fire that destroyed a business building on Arnold Lane Thursday, Feb. 1st.
During detective’s investigation, they were made aware that some of the contents of the destroyed building were located in Shepherdsville. Further investigation led police to the suspect, Nicholas E. Belliveau, who they found staying in a makeshift ten in a wooded area near Wickland Avenue in Bardstown.
Belliveau was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
According to a sheriff’s office press release, the investigation is ongoing.
