Obituary: Ryan Alexander Morley, 39, New Hope

Ryan Alexander Morley, 39, of New Hope, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at his home surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 17, 1978, in Nelson County. He was a former Technical Support Technician with Charter Communications in Louisville. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He was a member of the Army National Guard of Bardstown, 2nd Battalion, 138th Artillery from 1997 to 2004.

Survivors include his parents, Edwin Jay and Juanice Willett Morley of New Hope; two sisters, January Maloney (Bobby) of Bardstown and Coley Morley of New Hope; one brother, William Morley (Cristina) of Sonora; six nephews, Mohammad, Tyler, Zach, Ryan, Dakota & Austin; two nieces, Eva and Sara; one great-nephew, Derek; one great-niece Marilyn.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 104 Church Street, New Hope with the Rev. Kenneth Fortener officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, and 8-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a 7 p.m. prayer service Tuesday with Deacon Jim Cecil.

Pallbearers are Andy Harrell, William Morley, John Morley, Mike Castillo, Charlie Castillo and Bobby Maloney. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Willett, Phillip Willett and Hunter Willett.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
