Obituary: William F. ‘Will F.’ Osborne, 91, Bardstown
William F. “Will F.” Osborne, 91, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was formerly of the “Burg” and was married to the former Amanda Sims for 61 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and a member of the Bereavement Committee for several years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from Barton Brands LTD after 35 years as traffic manager. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1290, the American Legion Post No. 121, the Moose Club and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Spencer Sr. and Louise Mudd Osborne; four sisters, Bessie Medley, Mabel Patterson, Rosemary Baker and Lucille Osborne; three brothers, Joseph Spencer Osborne Jr., Jim Osborne and Bob Osborne.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Sims Osborne; two daughters, Dianne (Jesse) Godbey of Bardstown and Dana (Kerry) Cecil of Louisville; four sons, Dennis (Michelle) Osborne, Doug (Debbie) Osborne, and Don (Andrea) Osborne, all of Bardstown, and David Osborne of Georgetown; five sisters, Frances Haydon, Therese Allen, Aline O’Mary, Louise Hicks and Shirley Rogers; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, and 8:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a 6 p.m. Thursday prayer service.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
