Obituary: Darlie Edward Davis, 80, Hodgenville

Darlie Edward Davis, 80, of Hodgenville, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at University of Kentucky Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a Christian by faith, and a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was the owner/operator of Davis Trucking Co.

He was born April 1, 1937, in Winchester to the late Darlie and Ollie Mae Hamilton Davis.

He was preceeded in death by his first wife, June Watts Davis; his parents; one son, Brian F. Davis; and one brother, Robert Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Leonard of Florida; one daughter, Kelly (Dean) Hornback of Hodgenville; one son, Robin Leonard of Michigan; two brothers, Dan Davis of Louisville and John Davis of Greensburg; nine grandchildren, Katie Wheatley, Tyler Hornback, Matthew Hornback, Tony Davis, Josh Davis, Emily Davis, Justin Davis, Brooke Davis, and Aiden Leonard; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, with Bro. Jonathan Carl officiating. Burial in the Magnolia Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd, Hodgenville.
