Obituary: Gladys Clare Flanders Meredith, 94, Hodgenville

Gladys Clare Flanders Meredith, 94, of Hodgenville, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. She was a Baptist by faith and was a member of Ovesen Heights Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker. She was born in LaRue County to the late Lloyd and Mattie Price Flanders.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Thomas Meredith; her parents; three sisters, Ella Hatfield, Virginia Underwood and Bernice Hatfield; one stepdaughter, Louise Davenport; and one grandson, Terry Clyde.

She is survived by three daughters, Regina (David) Clyde of Shepherdsville, Brenda (Mike) Brady of Elizabethtown and Sandra (Joe) Reid of Nashville; four sons, W.T. (Mary) Meredith of Lake City, Fla., Bobby (Diane) Meredith of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Russell Meredith of Elizabethtown, and Timmy (Roxanne) Meredith of Hodgenville; one brother, Marvin “Pete” Flanders of Louisville; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel with burial in Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m.Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, and 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
