Obituary: Raymond Humes, 86, Springfield

Raymond Humes, 86, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at his residence. He was born Dec. 23, 1931, to the late William Pete and Nellie Rose Murphy Humes. He was a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jean Tingle Humes.

He is survived by three sons, Billy Humes of Raywick, Roy (Phyllis) Humes and Danny (Debbie) Humes, both of Springfield;

one sister, Alice (Larry) Wilder of Fairfield; one brother, Jerry Humes of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with John Thomas officiating. Burial is in the Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Green River.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
