Obituary: Judy Tate, 69, Fairfield

Judy Tate, 69, of Fairfield, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at her residence. She was born Feb. 13, 1948, in Jefferson County to the late Avery and Gladys Burgin Wallingford. She was a former CNA for Bluegrass Assisted Living, loved talking on her CB radio where she was known as Bloomfield Indian, and was a member of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Tate; and three sisters, Nora Woods, Ann Cornish and Rose Burkhead.

She is survived by her son, Benny Tate Jr. of Fairfield; and her special best friend, Ann Hood.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Jose Albovias officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to Hospice of Nelson County.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
