Obituary: Harold McMakin Jr., 59, Bardstown

Harold McMakin Jr., 59, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, in Kensington Center in Elizabethtown. He was born Nov. 30, 1958, in Bardstown to the late Harold and Nellie Beeler McMakin Sr. He was a construction worker and a former employee of Florida Tile. He was a member of the Bloomfield Second Baptist Church and loved riding motorcycles and going fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Owen McMakin.

He is survived by three daughters, Saretha (Andre Lydian) Litsey and Felicia Litsey, both of Bardstown, and Lorraine (Jovan) Peterkin of Indianapolis; one son, Quinton (Brittany Gibson) Poynter of Bardstown; two sisters, Vicki (Darryl) Carter of Bloomfield and Damita Joy (Jeff) Moran of Nashville; one brother, Claude McMakin of Shelbyville; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at the Bloomfield Second Baptist Church, 145 Hill Street in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Joseph Marshall and the Rev. Jeff Moran officiating. Burial is in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
