Obituary: John Earl Hagan, 74, Holy Cross
John Earl Hagan, 74, of Holy Cross, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Baptist Health Louisville. He was born Jan. 20, 1944, in Holy Cross. His working life included farm work and sawmill work.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Everett Hagan; one sister, Nina Jean Smith; one brother, Joseph Jude Hagan; one sister-in-law, Belinda Sue Hagan; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Blanford and David Mattingly.
Survivors include his mother, Marguerite Hagan of Holy Cross; six sisters, Ann Blanford of Holy Cross, Cathy Mattingly and Barbara Hagan, both of Loretto, Vickie Carrico (Brad) and Karen Hagan, both of Bardstown and Nancy Edelen (Kevin) of Springfield; two brothers, George Hagan of Holy Cross and Max Hagan (Renee) of Raywick; and one brother-in-law, Paul Smith of Springfield.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto with Deacon Joseph R. Dant presiding. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
