Thomas Ray Yocum, 30, was arrested Monday and charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500 and tampering with physical evidence.
Yocum was indicted in January for his role in the alleged theft of copper and equipment from the school construction site. The indictment states that sometime between Jan. 4 and 5, Yocum, acting alone or in concert with Selvey James Vittitoe, allegedly broken into the school construction site and stole equipment and goods, including $40,000 of 16-foot copper pipe, two rolls of copper wiring and other assorted tools. The indictment also alleged Vittitoe and Yocum took a Chevy Lumina and a 16-foot tandem axle trailer from a home in Nelson County.
