Obituary: Dawn Renee’ Whitson, 50, Bardstown

Dawn Renee’ Whitson, 50, of Bardstown, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Baptist East Health in Louisville. She was born Oct. 6, 1967, at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Gwinn, Mich. For the last two years she was living at Bardstown Healthcare where she had formed a lot of friendships with the staff and other residents. She also attended Active Day where she was also loved by their staff and was one of God’s special angels.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Eugene Whitson.

She is survived by her mother, Marlene J. Brown Whitson of Bardstown; two sisters, Leslie Whitson of Lee’s Summit, Mo. and Melody “Lynn” Whitson-Powell of Bardstown; and nieces and nephews, Mindy, Brita, Riley Eugene, Morgan, Paige, Stephanie, Nichole and Alyssa.

The funeral is 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Brad Woods officiating. Cremation will follow services.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Active Day of Bardstown.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home of Bardstown is in charge of arrangements.
