Thursday’s tornado drill an opportunity to review weather safety plans

NC GAZETTE / WBRT RADIO
STAFF REPORT

Thursday, March 1, 2018 — This morning’s Tornado Drill at 10:07 a.m. kicks off Kentucky Severe Weather Awareness Week.

The tornado drill will test alert systems, including sirens, computer and phone apps. The event is a great opportunity to check that your mobile device receives severe weather alerts. There are numerous weather apps available, and the drill is a good time to be sure your phone has a working, effective weather app and that your device has alerts enabled.

The tornado drill is a good time to practice your tornado and severe weather safety plans at home and at work.
