Obituary: Hilma Ruth Voorheis, 61, Bardstown
Hilma Ruth Voorheis, 61, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at her residence. She was born April 8, 1956, in Dekalb, Ill., to the late William “Bill” and Laura Mae Clements Voorheis. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and wonderful friend who was full of life and love. She spent 40 years of her life following her passion as a nurse. She loved the outdoors, camping, scuba diving, and traveling. Her most valued time spent was with her children and her two grandsons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Marks.
She is survived by three daughters, Laura Reddick of New Hope, and Susan Reddick and Margaret Reddick, both of Bardstown; one son, Crit (Danielle) Reddick of Bradenton, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Jo Fabian of Oregon, and Debra Olalde and Barb Powell, both of Illinois; one brother, David Voorheis of Arizona; and two grandsons, Jackson Wimpsett and Rawlings Ricketts, both of Bardstown.
The family followed her wishes of cremation. A memorial service is 7 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home. Burial is in the St. Rose Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
