City school board receives 16 applications for district superintendent position

Friday, March 2, 2018 –– The Bardstown City Schools superintendent screening committee has received 16 applications for the position of district superintendent.
The deadline to apply was Thursday, March 1.
According to a Kentucky Association of School Administrators — the agency assisting with the search process — 15 applicants are in-state applicants. One application lives out of state. Of the 16 applicants, four have previous superintendent experience.
SCREENING PROCESS BEGINS. The screening committee’s next step is to begin screening the applications per KRS and school board policy.
Per the timeline established by the board, the committee will make its recommendation to the full school board by Tuesday, March 20, 2018. The recommendations will not be made public.
Phil Eason with the Kentucky Association of School Administrators is assisting the board with the search for a new superintendent.
