Obituary: Joseph M. ‘Dee Dee’ Hamilton, 80, Loretto
Joseph M. “Dee Dee” Hamilton, 80, of Loretto, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 21, 1937, in Loretto. He was a retired employee of General Electric in Louisville where he worked for 37 years, 7 months and 5 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Dallas “J.D.” and Marian Matilda “Tillie” Masterson Hamilton; one daughter, Renee Ann Hamilton; and one brother, Freddie Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ada Smith Hamilton; one daughter, Susan Hamilton Spalding of Loretto; one son, Dallas Hamilton of Loretto; two sisters, Shirley Bland (Frank) of St. Mary’s and Eva Beaven (David) of Louisville; two brothers, Bobby Hamilton (Jewel) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Danny Hamilton (Benita) of Louisville; and four grandchildren, Kayce and Logan Spalding and Haley and J.D. Hamilton.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church; 6785 Highway 52, Loretto, with the Rev. Bryan Lamberson officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
