City’s water line flushing program to affect several neighborhoods this week

Monday, March 5, 2018 — The City of Bardstown’s water department has begun its annual water line flushing program in the city limits.

Water customers in the affected areas may experience discolored water or air in their water lines. Customers are asked to run their water faucets for a few minutes to clear any sediment or air bubbles that may be trapped in the service lines. The flushing program is important in order to maintain water quality.

The following areas in Bardstown are targeted this week for flushing:

MONDAY, MARCH 5. On Monday flushing will occur in the Garden Park area of Bardstown on Barberry Lane, Fern Lee Circle, Harding Court, Guthrie Drive and Honeysuckle Lane at or near the following street intersections:

• Barberry Ln & Daffodil Dr
• Fern Lea Circle & Crocus Way
• Harding Ct & Daffodil Dr
• Guthrie Dr
• Barberry Ln & Honey Suckle Ln

TUESDAY, MARCH 6. On Tuesday, flushing will occur on Plaza Dr., Demaree Dr., Honeysuckle Ln., Guthrie Dr., Sylvan Dr. and Beechwold Place – at or near the following locations:

• Barberry Ln near Plaza Dr
• Collins & Bloomfield Rd
• Amphitheater Rd & US-150/E. Stephen Foster Ave
• Justice Center – Court House
• McDonald’s

During flushing, customers in these areas may experience discolored water or air in the lines. Please allow your faucet to run for a few minutes to clear any sediment particles and air bubbles that may have been trapped in your service lines.

The Bardstown Water Department would like to thank its customers for their cooperation during this maintenance program. Routine flushing is very important for maintaining quality drinking water.
