Bloody trail leads police to woman involved in attempted burglary

Thursday, June 9, 2011, 3:20 p.m. — A bloody trail led officers to arrest a Bardstown woman Thursday morning for her role in an alleged attempted burglary on O’Finn Court in the Bard Homes area off Bloomfield Road in Bardstown.

Kendra K. Ditto, 19, was arrested by Bardstown Police and charged with complicity to burglary, second-degree and tampering with physical evidence after an attempted burglary was reported to police about 9:13 Thursday morning. Officers responding to the reported burglary attempt found a broken, bloodied window at a home at 106 O’Finn Court. Officers followed the trail of blood to 108 O’Finn Court, where they discovered Ditto. She gave a statement to police and was subsequently arrested.

The blood found at the scene is believed to belong to another participant in the attempted burglary. Police are searching for at least one additional suspect in connection with the crime. Anyone with information about this incident call the Bardstown Police at 348-6811.
