Obituary: James Marvin Mattingly, 79, Louisville

JAMES MARVIN MATTINGLY

James Marvin Mattingly, 79, of Louisville, died Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. He was born May 16, 1938, in Fairfield to the late Charlie and Viola Mattingly. He was a retired employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co., and a member of Little Union Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kim Heins; one sister, Frances Richardson Thomas; and two brothers, W.C. Mattingly and Frank Mattingly.

He is survived by one sister, Ruby Smith of Dayton; two brothers, Billy Mack (Nancy) Mattingly of Tacoma, Wash. and Shelby G. (Sue) Mattingly of Franklin, Ohio; one son in law, Dan Heins of of Louisville; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Will Sipes officiating. Burial is in Little Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
