Obituary: Mary Elizabeth Richardson, 96, Birmingham, Ala.

Mary Elizabeth Richardson, 96, died passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 in Birmingham, Ala. She was the former Mary Elizabeth Durham of Lebanon Junction, Kentucky. In 2005 she moved to Florida to be close to her son and daughter-in-law, Bradford and Claudia. In 2011 she moved to Alabama to Greenbriar Assistant Living. There she was near her nieces and nephews, Suzanne Durham, Richard Durham, John Durham, Nancy Noble, and Jane Smith, along with Carolyn Howell. She loved Lebanon Junction and spoke of it often. Her last thoughts were of “moving back to Lebanon Junction” and now she has.

She was a member of Dennie Memorial Methodist Church where she was the organist. She was a former employee of Lebanon Junction Elementary School, Bullitt County Bank, and Jim’s Key Market to list a few. She was a member of the Bullitt County YMCA and the Bullitt County American Cancer Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bradford Richardson; one son, Bradford Durham Richardson; two brothers, Isaac Durham and George Durham,Jr.; three grandchildren, Tracy Richardson, Craig Allen, and Bradford Kyle Richardson.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Carter (Mac); one daughter-in-law, Claudia Richardson (Bradford D.); three grandchildren, Melanie Allen (Mark Hagopian), Lisa Plante (Buddy), Atsuko Richardson (Kyle); three great-grandchildren, Anna Richardson, Bradford Zen Richardson, and Mackenzie Plante.

The memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Dennie Memorial Methodist Church in Lebanon Junction.

The Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction is in charge of the arrangements.
