BMS principal Ryan Clark makes list of city school superintendent finalist

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 — The four finalists for the job of superintendent of Bardstown City Schools have been forwarded to the Bardstown Board of Education for their review. The list of finalists include a school principal from within the city school district.

The district’s screening committee submitted its list of finalists to the school board at the end of its regular meeting Tuesday, and the district forwarded the names in an email to media late Tuesday afternoon.

The four finalists include:

Bardstown resident Ryan Clark, who currently serves as principal of Bardstown Middle School.

Charles B. Abell, Springfield, who currently is assistant superintendent of Spencer County Public Schools.

Matthew Baker, Portsmouth, who is presently the director of districtwide programs for the Greenup County School District.

Anthony Thompson, ,Russell, who is currently the director of pupil personnel at Russell Independent Schools.

Phil Eason, the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA) representative who is assisting the school board in the superintendent search, complemented the screening committee for being effective in fulfilling its responsibility to the board.

“It’s easy to understand why each member’s respective group selected them to serve in this very important capacity,” Eason stated through a press release. “They were very focused, thorough and purposeful in fulfilling their responsibilities and, as a result, the Board has a strong list of finalists to consider.”
