Ada Marie Thompson, 89, Loretto
Ada Marie Thompson, 89, formerly of Loretto, died Friday, June 10, 2011, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. She was born July 15, 1921, in Marion County and was a member of the Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Patrick “Pat” Thompson; her parents, William Thomas and Leona Allen Wren; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Thompson and infant James Patrick Thompson; a grandson, Jeffrey Thompson Newton;a sister, Nannie Bailey; two brothers, Howard and Johnny Wren; and three infant sisters.
Survivors include six daughters, Virginia (Phillip) Newton, Linda (James) Williamson and Roxie Perkins, all of New Haven, Leona (Kevin) Gilmore of Merrimack, N.H., Vicky (David) Hedden of Franklin, N.C. and Dale (Larry) Burchell of Campbellsville; three sons, David (Amelia) Thompson of Leitchfield, Ricky (Carol) Thompson of Louisville and Dickie (Sandy) Thompson of Loretto; 30 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with burial in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery at Saint Francis. The Rev. Leland Parks will officiate. Pallbearers are grandsons, Bernard Newton, Scott Hedden, Joe Paul Williamson, Pat Thompson, Kyle Burchell, Steven Burchell, Allen Thompson and Daryl Gilmore.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
