Obituary: John Stephen Brothers, 60, Bardstown

John Stephen Brothers, 60, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville. He was born Feb. 2, 1958, in Bardstown to the late Namon and Alice Wheatley Brothers. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a truck driver for the S.R.M. Association. He was a member of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky Thompson Brothers; one daughter, Rebecca (Shain) Ruley of Bardstown; three sons, Christian Brothers of Germany, and Shaun Marshall and Kody Wallin, both of Bardstown; four sisters, Christy (Larry) Daugherty of Boston, Ginger (Tommy) Porter of Elizabethtown, and Beth (Timmy) Crowe and Mary Lou (Timmy) Hatfield, both of Bardstown; three brothers, Davy (Jenny) Brothers of Bowling Green, and Kerry (Ann) Bothers and Andy (Jan) Brothers, both of Bardstown; and five grandchildren, Wesson Ruley, Mattie Marshall, Trinity, Chaselan, and Jordyn Ruley.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road with military honors at 7 p.m. Cremation will follow the services.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
