Obituary: William ‘Oddie’ Bartley, 74, Greenbriar

William “Oddie” Bartley, 74, of Greenbriar, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at his residence. He was born Aug. 23, 1943, in Greenbriar to the late John Willie and Mary Octavia Cecil Bartley. He was a custodian for the Nelson County Courthouse for 33 years. He was a member of the Catholic faitn and he never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Earl Blanford. He was the last surviving of 18 children.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann “Patsy” O’Bryan Bartley; three daughters, Robin Renee Blanford of Loretto, Wendy Sue (Paul) Norman of New Haven, and Leslie Ann (Mike) Watkins of Greenbriar; one son, Mark Stephen Bartley of Cleveland; and four grandchildren, Charles Joshua “C.J.” Baker, Christopher Dylan Norman, Devin Zane Watkins, and Nathan Levi Watkins.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Harris officiating. Burial is in the St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
