Obituary: George Pruitt Wethington Sr., 92, Lebanon Junction
George Pruitt Wethington Sr., 92, of Lebanon Junction, died Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Signature Healthcare in Carrollton. He was a a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus and both the Bullitt County and Kentucky Retired Teachers Associations. He also was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Louise Clements Wethington; his parents, Omby and Bessie Abell Wethington; and his siblings.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Ann Hendrick (Tim) of Carrollton; two sons, George P. Wethington Jr. (Rebecca Brenzel) and Richard L. Wethington (Susan Springate), both of Louisville; five grandchildren, Amanda Coombs, Chris and Haley Hendrick and Richard and David Wethington; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the St. Benedict Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Clare Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018, with a prayer service at 7:30 at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction.
