Obituary: Harold Robert ‘H.R.’ Millsap, 93, New Haven

Harold Robert “H.R.” Millsap, 93, of New Haven, formerly of Cox’s Creek, died Sunday, April 15, 2018, at his home. He was born July 4, 1924, in Harlan County to the late Arthur and Missouri Jennings Millsap. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired maintenance employee for the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, and an employee at SB Foot Tanning as a tanner for Red Wings Shoes in Red Wings, Minn. He was a Christian, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the American Legion Post 121.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Millsap; one son-in-law, Danny Hutchins; one sister; and four brothers.

He is survived by one daughter, Deborah “Deb” Hutchins of Bardstown; three sons, Danny (Judy) Millsap of New Haven, Robbie (Denise) Millsap of Bardstown, James (Jodi) Millsap of Burlington; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Bryan officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
