Obituary: Carlton Truman Cornish, 48, Chaplin

Carlton Truman Cornish, 48, of Chaplin, died Thursday, April 19, 2018, in The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg. He was born Oct. 21, 1969, in Bardstown to Carlton and Margaret Riley Cornish. He was a truck driver, a former employee of American Fuji Seal, and a member of Chaplin Baptist Church. He loved to fish and hunt, gardening, and play with his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carlton Cornish; and one niece, Tabitha Brooke Stephens.

He is survived by one daughter, Kayla Cornish (fiancé Thomas Brothers) of New Haven; one son, Cody Cornish of Bloomfield; his mother, Margaret Riley Cornish of Chaplin; five sisters, Kathy (Jerry) Hagan and Debbie (Gary) Morrow, both of Lawrenceburg, Alda Morris of Chaplin, Tammy (Jeffery) Isham of Mackville, and Pam (Chris) Stephens of Chaplin; two brothers, Ezra (Larissa) Cornish and Floyd (Ashley) Cornish, both of Chaplin; his grandson, Garrett Brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Matt Ashby officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018,

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
