Obituary: Mary Wilkerson, 66, Bardstown

Mary Wilkerson, 66, of Bardstown, died Saturday, April 21, 2018, at her residence. She was born Feb. 8, 1952, at Fort Knox. Prior to retirement, she was a nurse for 20 years at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was co-founder of Local Termite and Pest Control in 1984, and a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Pauline Blackburn.

She is survived by her son, Billy (Angela) Travelstead of Willisburg; three sisters, Barbara (Steve) Heitz of New Albany, Ind., Virginia (Ed) Guilford of Sellersburg, Ind. and Pauline (Mark) Phillips of Floyd Knobs, Ind.; four brothers, Elmer (Jerry) Blackburn of Simpsonville, Michael (Helen) Blackburn of Plant City, Fla., Paul (Lee Anne) Blackburn and Leo (Amy) Blackburn both of Louisville; several nieces and nephews; and several special friends and caregivers.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Barlow Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodney Lynch officiating. Burial is in Willisburg Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, and 9-11 Tuesday at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to Hospice of Nelson County or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
