Obituary: Frances Mae Smothers, 78, Lebanon
Frances Mae Smothers, 78, of Lebanon, died April 19, 2018, after an illness. She was born to the late Homer Rakes and Anna Lou Tungate of Marion County on May 10, 1939.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ambers Joseph “AJ” Smothers; her son, Joe Smothers; and her grandchild, Phillip Mudd.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Rockey (Michael) of Louisville and Anna Mudd of Bardstown; four sons, Roger “Cotton” Smothers (Tammy), Robert “Moe” DeWayne Smothers (Joyce), Darrell Smothers (Rosie) and James Smothers (Debbie), all of Lebanon; one sister, Irene Reardon of Lebanon; one daughter-in-law, Cinda Smothers of Lebanon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Campbell-Fisher Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon National Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2018, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Josh Mudd, Dale Smothers, Jr. Smothers, Jr. Smothers, Zachary Smith, Jackie Lee Tungate and Scott Darst.
