Obituary: Ruby Tingle Noel, 96, Springfield

Ruby Tingle Noel, 96, of Springfield, died at 6:42 a.m., Sunday, April 22, 2018, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was a native of Washington County and was born Dec. 13, 1921, to the late Herbert and Minnie Harlow Tingle. She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church, a longtime employee of the Lincoln Homestead State Golf Course and a Kentucky Colonel.

She was preceded in death was her husband, William H. Noel (Oct. 31, 1989); one son, Donnie Noel (June 7, 2007); and three brothers, Randall Tingle (Feb. 8, 1994), John R. Tingle (Jan. 30, 2002), and Billy Tingle (Jan. 17, 2012).

Survivors include one daughter, Janice Lamb (Kenny) of Harrodsburg; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Noel of Mackville; one sister, Martha Offutt of Springfield; and one brother, Leroy Tingle of Louisville; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Aaron Sherrell, pastor of the Springfield Baptist Church, officiating. Burial is in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the funeral home.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be David Tingle, Larry Edelen, Joe Wheatley, Pat Cassidy, Buck Hourigan, Jim Morgan, Denny Miles, John Isaacs, Bill Rudd, Les Manley and Katie Manley.

Casket bearers will be Travis Lamb, Brad Noel, Randy Mayes, Jr., Tony Tingle, Mike Tingle and Steve Tingle.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
