Nelson County E-911 dispatcher graduates from EKU dispatch academy

Friday, April 27, 2018 — A Nelson County dispatcher was among 25 public safety dispatchers who graduated recently from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training’s Public Safety Dispatch Academy on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.
Austin Hale has been employed by Nelson County E-911 Dispatch since 2016.
Dispatch Academy Class 117 underwent five weeks of training including Criminal Justice Information Systems, Emergency Medical Dispatch and basic dispatch skills. The class also completed portfolios showcasing their home counties.
The graduation ceremony was held in the Posey Auditorium in the Stratton Building on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
