Obituary: Harold Prather, 81, Bloomfield

Harold Prather, 81, of Bloomfield, died Friday, April 27, 2018m at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born May 11, 1936, in Nelson County. He was a self-employed builder and owner of Humphrey Bros. Hardware. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Bloomfield Masonic Lodge, and of the Chaplin Christian Church (D.O.C.).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebert and Betty Rose Prather; and one sister, Helen Parrish.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Freda Hahn Prather; one daughter, Lana (Johnny) Peach of Lawrenceburg; one son, Bryan (Denyse) Prather of Bloomfield; one sister, Pauline Burgin of Chaplin; one grandson, Landon Peach both of Lawrenceburg; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin with the Rev. Jim Wheeler officiating.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, and 9-11 a.m. Monday April 30, 2018, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to Chaplin Christian Church (D.O.C.).
