Obituary: Jeanne Forsee Diaz, 72, Bardstown

Jeanne Forsee Diaz, 72, of Bardstown, died Friday, May 4, 2018, at her residence. She was born Feb. 17, 1946, in Bardstown, a retired registered nurse at Jewish Hospital, a master gardener, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Diaz; her parents, Dr. Tyre Guy “Tink” and Irene Forsee; one sister, Helen Cabrini Forsee; and two brothers, John C. Forsee, and David O. Forsee.

She is survived by four sons, Jerry Lear, Jeff (Beth) Lear, Joe (Serena) Lear, and Jason (Hannah) Diaz, all of Bardstown; three sisters, Patsy Smith and Peggy Dones, both of Bardstown, and Kathy Gordon of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Terry Forsee and Michael Forsee, both of Bardstown; 11 grandchildren, Emily Lear, Amelia Hensley, Helena Lear, Adam Lear, Olivia Lear, Evelyn Lear, J.D. Lear, Savannah Lear, Sammy Diaz, Raquel Diaz, and Shane Diaz; six great-grandchildren, Lilly Nickles, Leo Nickles, Sadie Miller, Sawyer Miller, Lyla Hensley, and Ellis Hensley; and several nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Mass is 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018, and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to American Cancer Society or St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
