Obituary: Geraldine Bland Miles, 88, Lebanon

Geraldine Bland Miles, 88, of Lebanon, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, at her residence. She was born Nov. 20, 1929, in Lebanon. She was a retired employee of the Marion County Board of Education and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Earl “J.E.” Miles; her parents, Joseph Bernard Sr and Mary Jo Jarboe Bland; one son, Carroll Miles; and one brother, Joseph Bernard Bland Jr.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Ann Hogue (Dewey) of Louisville; three sons, David Miles (Donna) of Lexington, Gary Miles (Helen) of Elizabethtown, and Bobby Miles (Leizel) of Lebanon; one brother, Frank Bland (Shirley) of Lebanon; 10 sisters, Clarice Dant, Mary Rita Browning and Margaret Ann Green, all of Lebanon, Pauline Boone of Howardstown, Imogene “Tim” Luckett, Doris “Dot” Byrdwell, Bonnie Spalding (Joe), Leta Mattingly (Pat) and Lois Spalding (Charlie), all of Louisville and Betty Boone (Kenny) of Lanesville; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. David Naylor officiating. Burial is in the Lebanon National Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8:30 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2018, at Bosley Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. prayer service Monday with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Charles Church fund.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
