Obituary: James Oscar ‘J.O.’ Durbin, 85, New Haven

James Oscar “J.O.” Durbin, 85, of New Haven, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Windsor Gardens of Bardstown. He was a retired employee of Seagram’s Distillery, a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, where he served as a custodian and was a member of the Altar Society and a Eucharistic Minister.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane Smith Durbin; three daughters, Carol Marie Reams (Terry), Tina Ann Sympson (Scott), and Rosemary Fleming (Dale); four sons, Charles Gregory “Greg” Durbin, Michael Wayne “Mike” (Merky) Durbin, Timothy Allen “Timmy” (Sara) Durbin, and James Patrick “Jim Pat” (Angie) Durbin; 17 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral Mass is 1 p.m. Friday, will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday May 11, 2018, at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, and after 8 a.m. Friday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.
