Obituary: Jerry Baker III, 57, formerly of Bardstown
Jerry Baker III, 57, of Horse Cave, formerly of Bardstown, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at his home. He was born Feb. 4, 1961, in West Point, Miss., to Jerry Baker Jr. and Martha Newell Hickman. He was a graduate of Bardstown High School, a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Our Lady of the Cave Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He sang in the church choir and was an employee of Dart Manufacturing. He was a former truck driver for Avery Trucking.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather Cornelius Hickman.
He is survived by his mother, Martha N. Hickman of Bardstown; two sisters Cora (Ricky) Lugo of Bluffton, S.C., and Bonnie Hickman of East Orange, N.J.; one brother Greg (Monica) Hickman of Olive Branch, Miss.; one nephew, Elijah Lugo; one niece, Shaina Lugo; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cremation was chosen by the family. A memorial Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at St. Monica Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason Harris celebrant. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.
Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the church.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
