Two teenagers injured after offroad accident near High Grove

Saturday, June 11, 2011, 5:56 p.m. UPDATE 1:42 a.m. — Two Bethlehem High School students were identified as the two people injured Saturday evening in an ATV accident off KY 48 in High Grove.

Nelson County EMS responded to KY 48 two miles east of High Grove for a two children who have been injured in an ATV accident. The Bardstown Fire Department was called to bring an ATV to help bring the injured out of the woods, across the creek and to the waiting EMS squad.

The call came in about 6 p.m.

Accessing the injured took time, as responders had to cross a creek and travel nearly a mile up a hollow to their location.

The two were identified as Jeremy Burrow and Christopher Thomas, who both completed their freshman year at Bethlehem High School. The Facebook social network was active Saturday night with prayer requests for the injured teens.

One of the juveniles suffered a laceration to the face, the other a laceration to the knee. They were transported by EMS to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville for treatment.
