Obituary: Ann Marie Settles, 78, formerly of Bardstown

ANN MARIE SETTLES

Ann Marie Settles, 78, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Bardstown, died Monday, May 14, 2018, at her daughter Sandra’s residence in Columbus. She was born May 25, 1939, in Springfield to the late Clarence and Croakie Smith. She was a former employee of Walmart, where most knew her as a greeter. She was a former 4-H leader, a past member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and to her family she was a loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Bill” Wilson Settles; one sister, Rose Michelle Smith; and two brothers, Marty Smith and Tommy Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Gordon (Scott) and Charlene Settles, both of Columbus Ohio; three sisters, Mary Rita Tackett of Arizona, Tillie (Kenny) Machtolft of Louisville, and Imelda Becker of Oregon; one brother, Thad (Theresa) Smith of Campbellsville; and two grandchildren, Brendan Gordon and Raymond Gordon, both of Columbus, Ohio.

The Memorial Mass is 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Burial is in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions go to Vista Hospice Healthcare, 655 Metro Place South, Suite 770, Dublin, Ohio 43107.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
