Obituary: Joseph Edward ‘Eddie’ Spalding Jr., 51, formerly of Bardstown

JOSEPH EDWARD “EDDIE” SPALDING JR.

Joseph Edward “Eddie” Spalding Jr., 51, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Bardstown, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at the Villages Regional Hospital in Florida. He was born in Bardstown, April 12, 1967. He was a graduate of Nelson County High School. After graduation he moved to Ocala, Fla. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction for many years, and worked the last few years for the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He married Brenda Cundiff Spalding of Bardstown on May 9, 1987.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edward “Jerry” Spalding Sr.; one sister, Deborah Marie Spalding; and his grandparents, James Leo Spalding Jr. and Christine Spalding, and Everett and Cora Mae Durbin.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Cundiff Spalding; two sons, Justin Edward Spalding of Summerfield, Fla., and Nathan Leon Spalding of Ocala, Fla.; his mother, Sarah Moller of Ocala, Fla.; one sister, Annette Durbin of Ocala, Fla.; two brothers Chris Spalding of Summerfield, Fla., and George Spalding of Ocala, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Aylee-Mae Spalding.
