Obituary: Bernard Henry Boone, 77, New Haven

Bernard Henry Boone, 77, of New Haven, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at his home. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and the Rolling Fork Volunteer Fire Department. He was an employee of General Electric for more than 30 years and Mago Construction. He was a lifelong farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Gootee and Roseann Mattingly; three brothers, J.A. Boone, Lawrence Boone and Jasper Boone; and two grandchildren, Adam Boone and Ashley Boone.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Nell Smith Boone; two daughters, Angie Robey (Dennis) and Stacy Covington (Lee); two sons, Jeff Boone (Carrie) and Todd Boone (Terri); one sister, Helen Boone; and eight grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Nelson County.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
