Obituary: Danny Ray Marks, 68, Willisburg

Danny Ray Marks, 68, of Brush Grove Road, Willisburg, died at 2 a.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018, at his home. He was born in Nelson County on Sept. 23, 1949, to the late Wilber “Coley” and Eva Parrish Marks. He attended the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy. He was a graduate of Old Kentucky Home High School and was a former employee of General Electric.

Preceding him in death was his first wife, Hazel Boblitt Marks (Aug. 21, 2009); one stepson, Jackie Eugene Byrd (Sept. 2, 2016); one sister, Linda Milburn (Dec. 8, 1978); one brother, William Lee Marks (Dec. 30, 1938); and one stepgrandson, Jonathan Byrd (Jan. 10, 2012).

Survivors include his wife, Gracie Burkhead Byrd Marks; two stepdaughters, Patricia Baker and Loretta Kirsch, both of Willisburg; one stepson, Eddie Byrd of Willisburg; one brother, Larry Marks (Judy) of Bloomfield; eight stepgrandchildren, Nicole Mudd (Kevin), Daniel Baker (Sasha), Joshua Baker (Kasey), Michael Baker (Sara), Amanda Medley (Charlie), Brittany Byrd, Heather Byrd and Wes Tingle; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy with church pastor the Rev. Keith Creech, officiating. Burial is in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Monday at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
