Obituary: Mary Elinor Spitznogle Graf, 101½, Louisville

MARY ELINOR SPITZNOGLE GRAF

Mary Elinor Spitznogle Graf, 101 ½, of Louisville, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at her home. She was born January 31, 1917, in Logansport, Ind., the older daughter of Christopher J. Spitznogle and Anna L. Willy. She was a charter and current member of St. Raphael the Archangel, a previous member of their Altar Society, and a member of the Priest Parents Club. She graduated from the Indianapolis St. Vincent de Paul Hospital School of Nursing with her R.N. She continued practicing her nursing career throughout her life at St. Vincent de Paul, Our Lady of Peace in Louisville, and the Jefferson County Health Department.

She was married to Paul L. Graf for 72 years, until his death in November 2012.

She is survived by two daughters, Tina Clark (Jack) and Judith Neal (Ron); two sons, the Rev. Jim Graf and Eugene Graf; one sister, Anna Marie Brough of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at St. Raphael the Archangel in Louisville with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

The family wishes to especially thank Mary’s personal doctors, Hosparus of Louisville, Nazareth Home and all of the loving home caregivers who gave years of care and cheer to Mom.

Expressions of sympathy may go to Boys and Girls Haven and St. Francis Conventual Friars of Mount St. Francis, Indiana.

The Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville, was in charge of arrangements.
