Obituary: Peggy Teresa Janes, 75, Bardstown

Peggy Teresa Janes, 75, of Bardstown, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, in Baptist Healthcare in Louisville. She was born July 31, 1942, in Bloomfield to the late James and Beatrice Martin Hilbert. She was a homemaker and a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church where she was an active and faithful member.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Janes; her daughter, Kelli Janes; one sister, Anna Ruth McMichael; and one, and a brother, Kelly Keith Hilbert.

She is survived by one sister, Judy (Dottie) Shewmaker of Louisville; one brother, Jimmy (Janet) Hilbert of Bardstown; and three grandchildren, Alisha Higgs of Louisville, and Jonathan Higgs and Dylan Blair, both of Bardstown.

The funeral was 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road with Bro. Danny Haynes and Bro. Gary Chesser officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Gideon’s International.
