Obituary: Ada Jane Hamilton, 75, Loretto
Ada Jane Hamilton, 75, of Loretto, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 21, 1942, in Marion County. She was a former teacher’s aide with Marion County Public Schools and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. “Dee Dee” Hamilton (Mar. 3, 2018); one daughter, Renee Ann Hamilton; her parents, Robert Kendrick “Reuben” and Anna Belle Medley Smith; two sisters, Wilbie Jean Corbett and Bernice Ballard; and four brothers, Aaron Smith, Juddie Smith, Earl Smith and Louis Smith.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Hamilton Spalding of Loretto; one son, Dallas Hamilton of Loretto; one sister, Barbara Ann Fogle of Holy Cross; one brother, John Edgar Smith (Grace) of Bardstown; and four grandchildren, Kayce Spalding, Logan Spalding, Haley Hamilton, and J. D. Hamilton.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto with the Rev. Bryan Lamberson officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Pallbearers are Smitty Smith, Scott Ballard, Brad Fogle, Kenny Corbett, Tom Smith and Robbie Smith.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
