Obituary: Mary Carolyn Hargis, 61, Loretto

Mary Carolyn Hargis, 61, of Loretto, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 31, 1957, in Marion County to the late Cecil Parrott and Lottie Mae Elliott Simpson.

She is survived by five children, Tina Harp of Breeding, Leticia Brown (Neal) of Loganville, Ga., and Felicia Abell (Chad) and James Hargis (Ashley), both of Loretto and Sasha Hargis of Bardstown; two brothers, John Simpson (Frankie) of Raywick and David Simpson (Virginia) of Lebanon; three sisters, Sarah Goff (David) of Raywick, and Connie Wright and Lottie Frances Smothers, both of Lebanon; and 10 grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with Chaplain Carlton Puryear officiating. Burial is in the Haysville Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Daniel Stark, Chad Abell, Neal Brown, James Hargis Jr., Jim Hargis and Chuck Woodbury.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
