Obituary: William H. ‘Bill’ Culver, 71, Oldham County

William H. “Bill” Culver, 71, of Oldham County, died Thursday, July 19, 2018. He worked at Sypris Tech (Tubeturns) from 1965 until 2012. He attended St. Polycarp Catholic Church and was very active in the Booster Club (1970s – mid 1990s). He moved to Oldham County in 1998 and became involved in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in LaGrange. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and loved his job as usher at 5 p.m. Mass.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alberta Culver; one sister, Louise Mattingly; one brother, Joseph Culver; and two nephews, Mike Mattingly and Tim Mattingly.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sandra (Mulkins) Culver; two sons, Damon Culver and Jason Culver; one sister, Barbara Culver Summitt; two grandchildren, Andrea Culver and Lincoln Culver; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family.

The funeral was Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in La Grange. A local graveside service is noon Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at St. Thomas Cemetery in Bardstown.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
