Obituary: Robert Owen Mills, 83, formerly of Chaplin
Robert Owen Mills, 83, formerly of Chaplin, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City, Ind. He was born Dec. 17, 1934, in Edmonson County to the late Earl Alva and Mariam Potetee Mills. He was a billiard mechanic for Steepleton Pool Co. for 39 years, a manager for Payless Service Stations for 12 years, and was a member of Lighthouse Community Church in Indianapolis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lucille Shelburne Mills; one son, James Earl Shelburne; and one brother, Earl Mills Jr.
He is survived by one daughter, Dana Sue (Gary) Nickerson of Nashville; two sons, Terry Gene (Brenda) Moore and Cecil Marion Moore Jr., both of Louisville; one sister, Billie June (Harold) Hall of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Benjamin Thomas Mills of Robertsville, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Joe Wilson, Bro. Willie Wilson, and Bro. Earl Wilson Jr. officiating. Burial is in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.
Visitation is 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
