Obituary: SSG (ret) Sarah Jean Green, 60, Radcliff
SSG (ret) Sarah Jean Green, 60, of Radcliff, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at VA Hospital. She served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Desert Storm. She was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, a member of VFW # 10281, the D.A.V., and Abraham Lincoln Post 167 American Legion in Bardstown.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Phillips.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffery C. Green of Radcliff; one daughter, Sharita Phillips of Louisville; one son, Jermeil Green of Kenosha, Wisc.; her mother, Irene Lydian of Bardstown; her father, William T. Phillips Sr. of Bardstown; three sisters, Diane Taylor of Louisville, Charmaine Phillips of Radcliff, and Patricia Payne of Bardstown; two brothers, William T. Phillips Jr. of Radcliff and Darnell Lydian of Lexington; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The funeral is noon Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Radcliff with the Rev. Harold Craig officiating. Burial is in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, 2072 South Dixie Boulevard, Radcliff, and 11 to noon Friday at the church.
The Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff is in charge of arrangements.
