Obituary: Wayne Spalding, 59, Bardstown

WAYNE SPALDING

Wayne Spalding, 59, of Bardstown, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at his residence. He was born Feb. 14, 1959 in Marion County. He was an employee for Lee Building Products, a Kentucky Colonel, and an avid UK fan who loved golfing with his sons, brothers and friends. He was generous and always the life of the party, and was very patriotic.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Spalding; and sister, Theresa Mattingly.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Barber Spalding of Bardstown; four children, Megan Spalding Morgan, Patrick (Angie) Spalding and Benjamin Spalding, all of Louisville, and Hannah Spalding of Bardstown; his mother, Martha Spalding of Fredericktown; two sisters, Denise (Allen) Carrico, and Rose Marie (Ron) Wimsett; four brothers, Jim (Deanna) Spalding, David (Tracy) Spalding, John (Rene) Spalding, and Martin (Kelli) Spalding, all of Bardstown; one granddaughter, Remy Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Holy Trinity Cemetery at Fredericktown.

Visitation is 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, and 9-11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Barlow Funeral Home. The family is planning a party to celebrate his life at a later date.

Memorial contributions may go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
