LEE HAGAN JONES
Lee Hagan Jones, 65, of Winter Haven, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 3, 2018. He was born Aug. 3, 1953, in Louisville. He was a 1971 graduate of Bardstown High School, attended St. Catharine Jr. College and Western Kentucky University. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven, Fla., and was a 3rd Degree Member of St. Josephs Knights of Columbus Council # 4726. He retired as a project administrator for the Florida Department of Transportation after 31 years of service. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed his leisure time with his many friends and family. He was a loving father and doting “grandpa”.
He was preceded in death by his father, John N. Jones Jr. (Oct. 11, 1959) and his mother, Lisabeth Ann Mathis Jones (Oct. 5, 1993); one sister, Anne Harlan Jones; and one brother, Steven Jones.
He is survived by one daughter, Lindsey Bennett (Dee) of League City, Texas; one son, John Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Lisa Haydon of Springfield and Cindy Clemons; one brother, Dann Jones of Chicago; two nieces, Blair Haydon of Lexington and Kate Thomas (Rob) of Herndon, Va.; and one nephew, Ben Haydon of Lexington; one granddaughter, Elle Bennett; and one grandson, William Bennett.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Batcheldor officiating.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at the funeral home.
